Rationale |
| Since 1972 we have had a decline in the purchase of hunting and fishing license sales nationwide of |
| 25%. 100,000 youth and 100,000 angler members in IGFA and a sustained effort in the years to come |
| will have a positive effect on our industry. |
| The new anglers over the years will generate revenue to assist the states in wildlife management |
| with increased revenue. Also the increased tackle sales will generate sales taxes for the states and |
| the 10% Federal Excise tax will enable the US Fish and Wildlife to work on more habitat and do more |
| to preserve our "Wild Areas of Our Country" |
| Angling and sportfishing is a lifelong sport enjoyed by people of all ages. In many areas of the United |
| States we have lost a complete generation of knowledgeable individuals and training programs will |
| need to be in place to educate the public. |
| Membership in IGFA will improve a persons view of the sportfishing world and will allow the angler |
| to be more properly informed in all issues of sportfishing. |
